High School

BBA will not have a uniform for the first semester of the school year. Students will adhere to a dress code as defined below. If the student body exhibits the maturity and responsibility to adhere to the dress code, then the dress code will be extended into the second semester. The dress code will be evaluated before the Christmas break, and parents will be notified of the discontinuance or continuance of the dress code.

Lower Garments

  • Ladies may wear skirts, slacks, capris, or walking shorts during the school day purchased from any store.
  • Slacks must be loose fit (not fitting close to the body; not tight),[1] and free of holes or frays.
  • Jeans or jean skirts of any color are not permitted. “Skinny” pants are not permitted.
  • Elastic waistbands or leg cuffs are not permitted.
  • Pants must be worn at or near the waistline.
  • The hemline, slit, or bottom of the dress, skirt, or shorts may be no higher than the top of the knee. Slits must be sewn (not pinned). The fit of the skirt must allow the student to sit modestly.
  • Skirts or shorts should come within a dollar bill’s width from the top of the knees when sitting.
  • Dresses and skirts must extend to the crease in the back of the knee when standing. If leggings are worn, the dress or skirt must still reach the minimum length.

Upper Garments

  • The shoulders and the front and back torso must always be covered. No cleavage may be visible.
  • The neckline shall extend no lower than three fingers from the indention where the neck meets the breastbone. No cleavage may be visible.
  • T-Shirts, to include BBA and BBC shirts, are not authorized for wear Monday through Thursday.
  • Off the shoulder tops are not allowed.
  • Racer back tops are not allowed.
  • Sheer garments may not be worn.
  • Undergarments may not be seen through outer tops.
  • Blouses and shirts must extend beyond the waistline of the lower garment when hands are raised. The midsection cannot be visible at any time.
  • All tops must fit modestly loose but not gap open in a revealing nature.

Friday Dress

  • Ladies may wear jeans or jean skirts on Fridays provided that the upper garment extends outside the jeans to the tips of the fingers when the arms are relaxed at the side. The jeans must be free of holes or frays.
  • BBA/BBC T-Shirts may be worn.

Dress Down Days

  • Ladies may wear jeans or jean skirts provided that the upper garment extends outside the jeans to the tips of the fingers when the arms are relaxed at the side. The jeans are free of holes or frays.
  • Ladies may wear any loose fitting tops that contain brand logos, college mascots, and professional sports team logos.

  • Gentlemen may wear Dockers-like pants, walking shorts, cargo shorts, or cargo pants in any color during school hours.
  • Pants must be loose fit (not fitting close to the body; not tight),[1] and free of holes or frays.

Upper Garments

  • All shirts must contain sleeves.
  • All shirts must have a collar.
  • All collared shirts must be tucked into the pants and belts must be worn.
  • All shirts must fit loosely and may not be tight.
  • T-shirts, to include BBA and BBC shirts, may not be worn Monday through Thursday.

Friday Dress

  • Gentlemen may wear jeans on Fridays as long as the jeans are free of holes or frays.
  • BBA/BBC T-shirts may be worn.

All Students

  • Tattoos are not acceptable, whether permanent or temporary.
  • Body piercing is not permitted (except for ladies’ ears).
  • Students must arrive, remain, and leave school in approved attire. A student must meet the appropriate school dress code at all times on campus and for attendance at any school function on or off campus. This includes summer camps and Driver’s Education courses offered on campus.
  • Hats and other headwear may not be worn on campus during school hours. Sunglasses are not to be worn inside the building or on top of the head, around the neck but should be safely stored in the student’s locker.

Ladies

  • Proper undergarments must be worn at all times. No underwear lines or bra straps may show.
  • Ladies are to wear safe and appropriate footwear. Ladies may wear enclosed shoes (tennis shoes or deck shoes, etc.), sandals, or heels with a heel no higher than 2-inches.
  • Excessive fringes, fur, and decorative designs are not permitted.
  • Flip-flop style beach shoes are not permitted.

Gentlemen

  • Gentlemen must be clean-shaven. Sideburns may not be below the bottom of the ear.
  • Gentlemen may not wear earrings or necklaces on campus at any time or at school-related events on or off campus.
  • Gentlemen must wear enclosed shoes (tennis shoes or deck shoes, etc.), socks, and belts.

Outerwear for All Students for Both Semesters

  • All jackets and hoodies must not contain graphics that are not in alignment with BBA philosophies.
  • All BBA jackets and hoodies may be worn in class at the discretion of the teacher.
  • All students must comply with the dress code under all outer garments.

Ladies

  • Slits may not be above the middle of the knee
  • No cleavage may show at any time. The top of the dress must fit snugly and be no lower than 2 ½” below the collarbone. Straps must be at least 2” in width. The designated committee will make the final judgment. Necklines, length, and straps may not be of sheer design. Tight lacing may be approved on a case-by-case basis.
  • The back of the dress may not be lower than the bottom shoulder blades to the midpoint of the back and no skin may show from that point to the middle of the knee. Every back is different so ladies need to lean toward that which is more modest. When in doubt, students should check with a committee member before purchasing their dress.
  • Every effort should be made to select dresses that are beautiful in appearance without ignoring the Biblical expectation that ladies dress in such a manner as to not draw undue attention to themselves.
  • In most cases, the majority of halter type dresses will be immodest. Ladies should check with committee representatives before making alterations to the top of their dress.
  • The designated committee must approve all formal dress for BBA events.

Gentlemen

  • Gentlemen are reminded that for a formal occasion, the appropriate attire must include dress pants (no jeans), dress shirt, tie, jacket, and dress shoes with color coordinating socks.
  • Jewelry will be limited to a class ring, a watch, and a single bracelet. Necklaces may not be worn and absolutely no type of earring can be worn by guests or students.
  • At no time will young men be allowed to wear shoes that resemble athletic footwear.
  • Shorts/jeans may be worn to athletic events, whether at home or away, as long as the shorts/jeans meet the school standard.
  • Shorts are to be to the top of the knee.
  • Jeans must be long, traditional cut pants (not skinny or stretch) that are clean, fit properly, and are in good condition.
  • Jeans may not have any holes or frays.
  • When jeans are worn by ladies, an outer garment must reach to the tip of the longest finger when the arms are extended along the seams of the jeans.
