Dr. Jack Farmer - Head of School

Jack Farmer has been the Head of School at Berean Baptist Academy since the 2014-2015 school year.

Dr. Farmer has served BBA in numerous roles since he first entered the classroom in the 2002-2003 academic year.  He has taught Bible, English, History, Life Science, Biology, Personal Finance, Technology, Speech, Physical Education, and Photography.  After taking a year off to lead the Academy through accreditation, he is returning for his nineteenth year as the Head Baseball Coach and third year as the Cross Country Coach.  He previously filled the High School Principal and Middle School Principal duties.  

Dr. Farmer currently teaches an adult Sunday school class for Berean Baptist Church and, as an ordained minister, fulfills various pastoral duties in support of the pastoral staff.  Additionally, he has served Berean Baptist Church as the Youth Pastor and Singles' Pastor. 

Before joining BBA, Dr. Farmer served as the Assistant Pastor of Grace Baptist Church in Baumholder, Germany.  

He also served as an Operations Sergeant, Infantry Squad Leader, Infantry Bradley Fighting Vehicle (IBFV) Commander, IBFV Gunner, Platoon Master Gunner, Communications and Electronics Section Chief, and as an Air Traffic Control Radar Systems Repair Technician in the United States Army from 1989 until 2002, when he was medically discharged for injuries suffered in the line of duty. 

Dr. Farmer conducted his doctoral research on the challenges of poverty, single-parent homes, ethnic disparity, and the best practices for supporting at-risk students entering private schools through the various state voucher programs.  

Dr. Farmer is currently completing the School Management and Leadership Certificate Program at Harvard University.  The program is a joint effort of the Graduate School of Education and the Graduate School of Business.  He began courses in February 2021 and will complete the program in November 2021.  

He is also pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Education with an emphasis on Curriculum and Instruction from Liberty University.  His early literature research focuses on the influences of positive behavioral instruments and their influence on student outcomes in the classroom.
