Jack Farmer - Head of School

Jack Farmer has been the Head of School at Berean Baptist Academy since the 2014-2015 school year.

Mr. Farmer has served BBA in numerous roles.  He has taught Bible, English, History, Life Science and Biology, Personal Finance, Technology, Speech, Physical Education, and Photography.  He also coached Baseball for 18-years and Cross Country for two-years.  He previously filled the High School Principal and Middle School Principal duties.  Additionally, he has served Berean Baptist Church as the Youth Pastor and Singles' Pastor.  Before joining BBA, Mr. Farmer served as the Assistant Pastor of Grace Baptist Church in Baumholder, Germany, as an Infantryman, and as an Air Traffic Control Radar Systems Repair Technician in the United States Army.  In addition to serving as the lead administrator of BBA, he serves on the College Transfer Advisory Board at Fayetteville Technical Community College.  

Mr. Farmer is currently conducting research for his Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Trident at American InterContinental University.  His research is focused on best practices for student support.  Additionally, Mr. Farmer is pursuing a Master's degree in Business Administration with a focus on strategic planning.  Mr. Farmer currently teaches an adult Sunday school class for Berean Baptist Church and, as an ordained minister, fulfills various pastoral duties in support of the pastoral staff.

Academic Principals

Sandra Adams has led the Berean Baptist Academy's preschool team since the 2015-16 school year.


For 17 years, Mrs. Adams has had the privilege of teaching various classes in the Academy to include lower school handwriting, 6th grade English, spelling, reading, history, and Bible, 7th grade literature, high school finance, middle/high school P.E., as well as lead the middle school as its supervisor. Mrs. Adams also serves as the Nursery III coordinator for the 18-24-month-old children at Berean Baptist Church. Before moving to Fayetteville from the inner city of Chicago, Mrs. Adams taught 5th-6th grades for 20 years at the Christian school affiliated with the church in which she was a part of all her life. 

Mrs. Adams has earned the following degrees and certifications:

  •      North Carolina Early Childhood Certification/ProSolutions Training- DCDEE 

Caleb Warren serves Berean Baptist Academy as the Elementary Principal. 

Caleb Warren has served in administration at Berean Baptist Academy since 2018, serving one year as the Middle School Principal and one year as the Elementary Principal. As the Technology Director, he coordinates the technology needs of the Academy with the IT Department. His role at Berean Baptist Church includes teaching various small groups and assisting in the Youth Department.

Before joining the staff at BBA, he served at Rosedale Baptist School in Baltimore, Maryland, from 2014-2018 in various roles including Vice Principal, Development Director, and Director of Advancement and Technology. He previously served as a full-time teacher in Durham, North Carolina, for seven years. Since he began teaching, he has taught both middle school and high school classes in the areas of Bible, Biblical Worldview, Language Arts, Technology, and Business Mathematics. Mr. Warren has been involved in ministry and Christian education since 2006.

Marketing and Business Operations

Don Adams has been the Director of School Advancement at Berean Baptist Academy since 2014-2015. 

Mr. Adams began his career at Berean Baptist Academy in 2002 as the High School Supervisor and English teacher.  Mr. Adams has served as Principal of the Academy, Middle School and High School Principal, and Assistant Administrator.  He has also taught Middle School and High School math courses as well as Middle School Bible classes.  Mr. Adams has led our international student program since its inception in 2004.  Before joining the staff at BBA, Mr. Adams was the Principal of Ravenswood Baptist Christian School in Chicago.  He serves as a member of the Faith and Community Relations Board for Habitat for Humanity.  Mr. Adams has done extensive work with Parents for Educational Freedom in North Carolina and has assisted this organization with the preservation of the North Carolina Opportunity Scholarship.  He has served as a deacon of Berean Baptist Church and currently teaches an adult Sunday school class.

  • Youth Ministries Degree - Baptist Bible College 
  • Certification through the American Association of Christian Schools 

 
Mr. Adams currently teaches the following classes:   

  •  7th Grade Bible 
  • 6th Grade Math

Bobby Burkett has been the Food Service Director at Berean Baptist Academy since the 2017-18 school year. 

After graduating from BBA in 1998, Mr. Burkett served in the public community in various restaurant roles. He has served as an assistant manager, general manager, and training unit manager for NPC. He is currently a small business owner and has managed, consulted, and owned multiple restaurant concepts.

He has earned multiple awards and accreditation from his years in the restaurant industry. In addition to maintaining his ServSafe Food Protection Manager certification, he is a certified ServSafe Proctor and Instructor. 

 

Breeanna Douglas serves as the Admissions and Records Specialist. 

Mrs. Douglas has been a part of BBA for over 16 years of her life, beginning with her role as a student within the academy. She graduated from BBA in 2011.  In 2013, Mrs. Douglas began working in Berean Baptist Church’s Cafe as a barista. Since then, she has worked for the school in a variety of ways. Mrs. Douglas has worked as a High School and Elementary Extended Care worker. She also taught Middle School Technology as well as High School and Middle School Yearbook classes.

Mrs. Douglas currently teaches the following classes:

Bianca Hurst serves as the Public Relations Specialist.

Mrs. Hurst has been involved with BBA for over 13 years of her life, beginning with her role as a student within the academy. She graduated from BBA in 2012, and went on to pursue her bachelor degree at Methodist University. During her time as a collegian, Mrs. Hurst was an intern at BBA, serving in Public Relations and Hospitality. While in college, she also hosted a radio show for her college campus, was published in a national magazine, served in numerous officer roles for the Theta Epsilon chapter of Alpha Delta Pi, worked as a Student Involvement Liaison, was a member of five honor societies, and helped design and execute New Student Orientation. She has earned 12 credit hours towards a Master of Arts in Executive Leadership from Liberty University.  

Mrs. Hurst has earned the following degrees and certifications: 

  • Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication – Methodist University 
  • The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People Signature Certification – FranklinCovey 
  • Writing Center Certification – Methodist University 

Mrs. Hurst currently teaches the following classes:

  • 7th Grade English Language Arts
  • 8th Grade English Language Arts

Daniel Knox has served as the Athletic Director at Berean Baptist Academy since the 2017-2018 school year. 

Mr. Knox started working at BBA during the 2015-2016 school year. In addition to being the Athletic Director, Mr. Knox has taught United States History, World History, American Government, Economics, and Physical Education at both the Middle School and High School level. He has also coached several athletic teams such as Middle School Soccer, Varsity Soccer, and Varsity Basketball.  Mr. Knox is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Sports Management from the US Sports Academy.

Mr. Knox has earned the following degrees and certifications: 

  • Bachelor of Science in Health, Fitness, and Recreation from Bob Jones University

 

Mr. Knox currently teaches and coaches the following classes and sports: 

  • Upper School History
  • Introduction to Sports Management 
  • Varsity Boys Soccer 

Tyrone Smith has been the Director of Finance at Berean Baptist Academy since the 2017-2018 school year.  

For the last 6 years, Mr. Smith has served BBA in the Athletic Department as the assistant coach for Varsity Boys Basketball and Baseball.  This year, he will be Head Coach for the Varsity Boys Basketball team.  Before joining BBA, he worked 7 years in the banking industry with Wells Fargo and JP Morgan Chase bank as a Licensed Banker. 

Mr. Smith has earned the following degrees and certifications:  

  • Bachelor of Arts in Accounting - Trinity International University  
  • Series 6 Banking License 
  • Series 63 Investment License 
  • Life and Variable License 

 

Mr. Smith currently teaches and coaches the following classes and sports:

  • 8th Grade Bible 
  • Sports Conditioning
  • Varsity Boys Basketball  
  • Assistant for Varsity Baseball  

 

Mary Stubbs has served as the Executive Assistant to the Head of School and Upper School Records Specialist since the 2016-2017 school year.  

Mrs. Stubbs has been involved with Berean Baptist Academy for over 30 years of her life, beginning with her role as a student in the academy. Mrs. Stubbs was a member of the 1990 graduating class. After her time as a student, Mrs. Stubbs went on to work with National Medical Care in their billing and accounting department before returning to Berean. She then worked for Berean Baptist Church as the Nursery Coordinator while also serving BBA as an Elementary substitute teacher. In 2010, Mrs. Stubbs began working fulltime for the academy as our Records Specialist.  

Mrs. Stubbs has earned the following degrees and certifications: 

  • Associates in Office Administration - Fayetteville Technical Community College 

Mrs. Stubbs currently coaches the following sports:

  • Varsity Cheerleading

Dawn Wiggins has been Berean Baptist Academy's FACTS Account Specialist since May 2017.  

 Mrs. Wiggins joined the BBA staff part-time in July 2016 filling in for the school office and as a substitute teacher. In addition to serving our families as the FACTS Account Specialist, Mrs. Wiggins will be providing administrative assistance to the High School and Middle School principals in the 2018-2019 school year.  She also spent the past two years hosting international students from Iceland, China, and Korea. Before joining BBA, she worked in a variety of fields including medical, social services, foster parenting, church office administration, and house remodeling. Mrs. Wiggins has completed courses in Anatomy and Physiology and Medical Terminology at Missouri Western State University.
