The High School utilizes primarily Bob Jones Press textbooks.  All courses are designed to meet the North Carolina Essential Standards for the issuance of credit.  Below you will find the scope and sequence for the different graduating classes.  If you have any questions, you can email our Head of School.  His email is located in the staff directory section.

Graduating Classes of 2017-2020

Berean Baptist Academy offers 8th grade students the opportunity to earn the required Earth Science credit needed to graduate from North Carolina schools.  

Beginning Literature (English 1) - 1 Credit

American Government and Economics - 1/2 Credit in each

Algebra 1 - 1 Credit

Physical Science - 1 Credit

Physical Education and Health - 1/2 Credit in each (Students must pass CPR training to pass health)

Old Testament Survey - 1 Credit (One credit must be earned per year of attendance)

1 Elective for Credit

 

World Literature (English 2) - 1 Credit

World History - 1 Credit

Geometry - 1 Credit

Biology - 1 Credit

Old Testament Survey - 1 Credit (One credit must be earned per year of attendance)

2 Electives for Credit

American Literature (English 3) - 1 Credit

United States History 1 or AP United States History (when offered) - 1 Credit

Algebra 2 - 1 Credit

Chemistry - 1 Credit

Apologetics - 1 Credit (One credit must be earned per year of attendance)

2 Electives for credit

British Literature (English 4) - 1 Credit

United States History 2 or AP European History (when offered) - 1 Credit

Trigonometry/Pre-Calculus or Statistics - 1 Credit

Physics (if required by desired university) - 1 Credit

Biblical Application - 1 Credit (One credit must earned per year of attendance)

2 Electives for credit

The State of North Carolina requires all students complete two elective credits in a career/technical field, arts education, or world language.  Students may combine courses across fields to earn the two credits.  Admission to UNC requires two world language credits in the same language.  BBA offers the following courses to meet those requirements.

Students must also earn four credits in either arts education, career/technical, or cross-disciplinary.  BBA offers the following courses to satisfy those requirements.
