7th Grade

Bible - Positive Action Curriculum  This class gives students an aeriel view of God's word and work.  Using the book, Route 66 Travel Through the Bible,  the students will trace the history of the earth from beginning to end - including the future!

English - ABEKA Curriculum
This course will continue to build upon the fundamentals of grammar and the students' ability to write clearly and effectively. Emphasis is also placed on spelling and vocabulary skills in order to build a well rounded use of speech and writing abilities. The students will become acquainted with a wide variety of good poetry from famous authors such as Longfellow, Scott, and Browning. Literature will include interesting stories and poems which focus on character, family, great men and women and legendary heros.

Gym
This course will cover a wide range of sports including football, basketball, wrestling, lacrosse, and others. The Health course will cover both physical and spiritual well-being. Topics covered in Health include the benfits of proper diet and excerise, basic musculature and skeletal anatomy, and Biblical principles for daily living.

History - World Studies - Bob Jones University Curriculum
From the beginning of civilization in Mesopotamia to the 20th century, this course explores the history of humanity and God's soverignty over world events.

Math - Saxon Curriculum
The Saxon Math Curriculum builds the student's mastery through daily practice of skills and concepts taught in previous lessons. Students will continue to learn numbers and operations, algebra, geometry, measurement, problem solving, data analysis and probability. Each day, students work through a lesson of thirty problems. Every five lessons, progress is checked through a cumulative test.

Science - ABEKA Curriculum
This book Science: Order and Design will be used for this course. The course will show God as the Designer in nature. Studies include scientific method, classification, ecology, plants, forestry and much more.

 

8th Grade

Bible
This course will cover the life of Christ.

English - ABEKA Curriculum
This course will take a step further into the fundamentals of grammar and writing techniques.  Emphasis is also placed on spelling and vocabulary to continue the student's growth in speech and writing.  Through Literature and Poetry, the students are introduced to some of the world's best authors such as Whitaker, Frost, Tennyson and Longfellow.

History - Bob Jones University Curriculum
This course will cover American History starting with Pre-Columbus civilizations and ending with the outbreak of Operation Iraqi Freedom.  Special emphasis will be placed on God's sovereignty in the founding of our nation.

Science - Bob Jones University Curriculum
The students will use the book Space and Earth. This course is an earth science course with the study of birds added.  They will hatch chicks and disect a bird as well as have live visitors in the classroom.  They will also discuss endangered species when they visit the Carnivore Trust in Pittsboro, NC.
